If your organization relies on being able to
extract timely, meaningful, and easy to understand information,
you're probably able to produce quality reports quickly and with
little effort, right?
If not, WHY NOT?? The reasons can be many.
Sometimes, data is being collected improperly, or duplicated
making statistical information inaccurate. Sometimes
the report simply doesn't exist, and sometimes there is a
computer system in place which is so hard to use that people
just don't bother. Sound familiar?
At DCS, we pride ourselves in creating databases which make
sense to YOU.
As a starting point, we offer a 2 hour FREE business analysis of
your organization. We do not believe in trying to sell someone
something they don't need. Because of this, we spend very little
on marketing. The way that we market our business is to meet
with people, offer our professional opinion, and then offer our
services directly and honestly.
Here are some things that our Small Business Analysis
includes:
Interviews with people in your organization and a report
based on the feedback of these people.
A brief study of the hardware and software used in daily
operations including Accounting applications.
An analysis of the flow of documents within your
organization.
An analysis of the duplication of data entry and other
efficiency issues.
An analysis of the accuracy and effectiveness of
periodic reports
A summary of our findings, suggestions on how to improve
things, and a discussion on how future technologies can help
your organization.
Custom Software Solutions
At DCS, we pride ourselves in creating databases which make
sense to YOU.
Here are some typical steps that we would take in developing
your system:
We take the time to learn about your organization, and
what drives your organization to succeed. We learn about
your goals, and make them ours. And before we learn about
your computers or your software, we learn about your
people.
Once we learn about the people in your organization, we
take the time to study your current system. By doing this,
we can give you an objective analysis of what we understand
the problems to be. This is called our
Small Business Analysis.
After learning about your current system, we perform a
Needs Assessment which outlines the steps needed to satisfy
your objectives. This may involve a wide variety of
technologies, including hardware and software requirements.
We always keep in mind though that the best solution isn't
always a technical one.
As we perform the steps needed to satisfy your
objectives, we give regular feedback to management by
providing them with regular status reports. When dealing
with computers, sometimes things go wrong. It is important
though that we never ignore these things, and work together
with you as a team to make sure that problems are dealt with
and solved.
As training is completed for the staff, the system is
tested, and then tested, and then tested some more! Regular
follow ups are performed to give management an idea of the
types of problems that have been encountered, and how the
system can continue to grow.

About Dignity
Dignity is a gift that every human being has been given
which can not be taken away.
That one statement, more than anything, signifies what our
company is about, and what our clients are about. We are not out to
make as much money as we can, or make promises we can't keep, or take
advantage of people's lack of knowledge. We just want to serve
people who we respect, be appreciated for what we do, hold our heads up
high at the end of the day and at the same time make a living.
The president of the company, Raj Lamba, created Dignity
Computer Solutions in the summer of 1998 to satisfy the need to feel
appreciated by people he respects. The concept of achieving
excellence first, and receiving rewards from your achievements latter is
key to how our company operates.
Here are some more principles which define our company:
We will never try to sell something to someone or try
to convince someone of something that they need which we can
offer. Instead, we present our opinion and if there is something
that we can offer which is beneficial to both parties, we do business.
We will try to never promise things which we can not
deliver. If we are ever in a situation where we have not been
able to fulfill our promises, we do whatever it takes to correct the
problem to everyone's satisfaction.
We will never use our energy to point fingers at
people or equipment. Our time is always spent on constructive
solutions.
If a client does not wish to pay for our services, we
will not charge them. If this happens often, we will no longer
offer our services to that client.
Everybody associated with our company, whether they
are creditors, clients, contractors, or employees will be treated with
honour and respect. We will always consider their problems, our
problems.
"I only want clients who I
can respect and trust, and who demand the same in return.
If business can not be done this way, with honour and
dignity, it simply should not be done."

Our First Letter...
October 4, 2001
Welcome guest, thank you for visiting our
website!
My name is Raj Lamba, and I am the president
of Dignity Computer Solutions here in Edmonton, Canada.
I was asked to write a small description about myself for
our website, but I think instead I'll start with a story
that my father told everyone at my wedding last May.
One day, when a man had reached the end of
his life, he was faced with a dilemma. He had been
taught all his life that people either go to heaven, or hell
based on their deeds. When the time came to find out
his final destination, God had determined that he had done
as much good in his life as he did bad. God decided to
give him the choice.
When the man was asked where he wanted to
go, he asked God to show him both places.. any intelligent
man would want to know his choices before making a decision.
God granted him this wish.
First, he was taken to see hell.. what he
saw were people, with their elbows tied so they could not
bend them. When they tried to eat, they would throw
their food up in the air in the hopes that it would land in
their mouths.
"Enough", the man said, "I am ready to see
Heaven"
God took him to heaven, and what he saw were
people with their elbows tied so that they could not bend
them. The man was confused.
"I don't understand", said the man, "this is
just what hell looked like"
"Wait", God said, "..watch.."
What the man saw, were people sitting across
from each other, holding their food out so that the other
could eat, and then being fed by the person they were
feeding.
This was the difference, between heaven and
hell.
My father then asked both Lynn (my wonderful
wife) and I to remember his story, and to base our life plan
and business plan on those words.
---
My dad, who turns 65 this Friday (Oct 5),
has been an inspiration to me, as have my mom and two
sisters who I turn to for strength and guidance and love.
They are as much a part of the character of this company
than anything I could ever have done on my own.
My dad started a computer company in 1980
and for 15 years was a leader in computer service in
Edmonton. Those years have taught me a lot, about
workmanship, caring for clients, and paying attention to
details.
In my heart, this company is just a
continuation of something my dad built for me, combined with
the strength of determination that I get from my mom.
I can't think of what else to say about
me... I hope that in 20 years, I can look back at all the
people I have met and realize that their first impression of
me might have been this web page, in which case its been
well worth the effort.
Hope to meet you soon,
Raja S. Lamba
President,
Dignity Computer Solutions.
Our Continued Promise...
A lot has happened since that first letter.. I took
the advice that my father gave me, and became richer than
any monetary riches could have ever provided me.
I can proudly say that I HAVE met so many people
over the years, and embraced their stories. I can also
proudly say, that the promise continues
