About Raja

October 4, 2001

Welcome guest, thank you for visiting our website!

My name is Raj Lamba, and I am the president of Dignity Computer Solutions here in Edmonton, Canada.  I was asked to write a small description about myself for our website, but I think instead I'll start with a story that my father told everyone at my wedding last May.

One day, when a man had reached the end of his life, he was faced with a dilemma.  He had been taught all his life that people either go to heaven, or hell based on their deeds.  When the time came to find out his final destination, God had determined that he had done as much good in his life as he did bad.  God decided to give him the choice.

When the man was asked where he wanted to go, he asked God to show him both places.. any intelligent man would want to know his choices before making a decision.  God granted him this wish.

First, he was taken to see hell.. what he saw were people, with their elbows tied so they could not bend them.  When they tried to eat, they would throw their food up in the air in the hopes that it would land in their mouths.

"Enough", the man said, "I am ready to see Heaven"

God took him to heaven, and what he saw were people with their elbows tied so that they could not bend them.  The man was confused.

"I don't understand", said the man, "this is just what hell looked like"

"Wait", God said, "..watch.."

What the man saw, were people sitting across from each other, holding their food out so that the other could eat, and then being fed by the person they were feeding.

This was the difference, between heaven and hell.

My father then asked both Lynn (my wonderful wife) and I to remember his story, and to base our life plan and business plan on those words.

---

My dad, who turns 65 this Friday (Oct 5), has been an inspiration to me, as have my mom and two sisters who I turn to for strength and guidance and love.  They are as much a part of the character of this company than anything I could ever have done on my own.

My dad started a computer company in 1980 and for 15 years was a leader in computer service in Edmonton.  Those years have taught me a lot, about workmanship, caring for clients, and paying attention to details.

In my heart, this company is just a continuation of something my dad built for me, combined with the strength of determination that I get from my mom.

I can't think of what else to say about me... I hope that in 20 years, I can look back at all the people I have met and realize that their first impression of me might have been this web page, in which case its been well worth the effort.

Hope to meet you soon,

Raja S. Lamba
President,
Dignity Computer Solutions.
